Samantha Stark did a great job with the first class exercise using the Canon 60d. The challenge was to make a story in 5 shots, all close up (CU) or extreme close up (ECU).
Students were allowed to direct people (and that’s the last time they’ll be able to do that) and they didn’t have to worry about sound (and that’s the last time they’ll be able to forget about sound.)
Notice how Samantha was able to shoot all closeups from different angles and how that gave a lot of flexibility in the edit.

1) raw footage
2) quick edit
3) quick edit with music
