During the Superbowl, there were lots of commercials for lots of products told in many different styles. But this one caught my eye because it felt more like a documentary film than a car commercial.

It also reminded me of the frenetic visual style used in Gasland, a documentary film that’s nominated for an academy award. In that film, Josh Fox gets a letter offering him a boatload of money to give up drilling rights for natural gas on his property.

He goes on a journey to learn the impact of  drilling for natural gas or fracking. I’m not a fan of the reporter or film maker being on camera, unless there’s a reason. This time it works.
