Class One in class assignment: a silent film in 5 shots
before you begin, format the card

- You will work in a team of two. We will choose the teams randomly in class
- You will create two short stories
- Each person on the team of two will create one of these stories so that in the end, the team will have two different stories.
- You must tell a story without sound…think silent film
- You have only 5 shots for each story
- All the shots must be closeup or extreme closeups.
You have 30 minutes to create these two different films.
return to class and download the dcim folder to your desktop by 12.00.
rename the folder with your name.
some suggestions: Try…not….to… panic.
Instead, try to

- think visual, think simple
- shoot the story in the proper sequence ( a drink from the water fountain)
- find a subject/story with action
- try to have action in your shots
- remember the empty frame.
- hold the shots around 8-10 seconds.
