Fulbright scholar, Belgian broadcast journalist and CUNY senior reporter Tim Verheyden came to Video Storytelling for the Web class this week and spoke about his experiences working in conflict zones around the world, including stories he covered in Chernobyl, Yemen, Haïti, Pakistan, the Arab Spring in the Middle East and the recent massacre in Norway.

Tim also was kind enough to post the notes and links from his talk.

You can see some of his work below (all ‘classic broadcast’) …

filmed with a small consumer camera, XDcam was confiscated. First time for our channel. But great way of showing that you are on the spot when things are happening

about working in big crowds:

live shots and story in Libya

some experiences are about extreme conditions, sleeping in car, hardly any food, technical problems…

So exciting to have Tim as part of CUNY!
