This is the first time a student is posting to the main page of the blog, but I wanted to share this video even though it is too long for the film festival.

Last class, we talked about how including a surprise in a video is a good move. It reminded me of the video One Man Brand, made during a workshop at MediaStorm. There are so many different ways this video could have opened, but starting it off at the gym is a creative way to surprise us with what the main character does for work. Do you think this was the strongest way to open the film? What other ways could it have opened?

Robert Burck couldn’t get anyone to listen to his music, until he made a simple discovery. In One Man Brand, we meet a man who has transformed himself from a penniless outsider into one of the Big Apple’s most visible attractions. See the project at http://mediastorm.com/training/one-man-brand
