This is broadcast television?

Oh yes it is. ESPN is a sports network but they also have some interesting ways of approaching sports stories,. Here’s a very visual, very powerful (quite brutal) story from their newsmagazine E:60 titled “Corrective Rape”.

This is a narrated story but the correspondent does a great job of getting out of the way of the story and the people who are telling their stories. It’s all about these women, not him. He also frames it at the opening and offers a “reflection” at the close. I wish they could have had the women offer that reflection, to tell us what they learned and how the problem might be solved.
